Exactly my point: Response to "Don't blame the Eater"

David Zinczenko's "Don't Blame the Eater" states that the fast-food companies fulfill the nutrional needs of kids left by overworked parents. With parents working long hours 5 days a week, it became impossible for them to monitor what thier children ate which was usually inexpensive high-calorie foods. Zinczenko was part of the group he described. Since his sinlge mother worked long hours and was rarely home, he ate at fast-food restaruants like Mcdonalds, Burger King, and other fast food chains and ended up overwieght. I fully agree with Zinczenko. On every corner, there is a fast-food restaurant. You can't escape it. There are probably more fast-food spots located on one street than a healthy food store in the nieghborhood. In my nieghborhood, there are three Mcdonalds in an eight block radius from 71st to 79th street. This does not include the Burger King, Pizzia Hut, Maxwell's, Popeyes, and Brown's Chicken that is also in that 8 block radius too. If there are any alternatives, I don't see any. By the way, they close the only grocrey store in that radius too.

On the contrary:Response to "Don't Blame the Eater

David Zinczenko's "Don't Blame the Eater" states that the fast-food companies fulfill the nutrional needs of kids left by overworked parents. With parents working long hours 5 days a week, it became impossible for them to monitor what thier children ate which was usually inexpensive high-calorie foods. Zinczenko was part of the group he described. Since his sinlge mother worked long hours and was rarely home, he ate at fast-food restaruants like Mcdonalds, Burger King, and other fast food chains and ended up overwieght. Zinczenko's also stated that there are no other alternatives for kids to chose from. In my opinion, there are other options for kids to chose from. The kids don't have to go out and buy fast food everyday. They can fix a healthy sandwich at home to cut down on spending on junk food and have something healthy to eat for dinner. Speaking of sandwiches, Subway would be a great alternative for kids to go eat healthy. People may say that its a fast-food chain like all the rest but before you think that consider this. Jared, Subway's spokesperson (you probably saw him in a subway commericial with Reggie Bush, Tony Parker, and John Cena), used to wiegh over 600 pounds. By a steady diet of Subway sandwiches everyday, he lost over 400 pounds in little over a year. I call that a good alternative for kids to try.
